The Aikikai of Grenoble association

Presentation the association

The Aïkikaï of Grenoble was founded in 1980 and never stopped its development since then. It counts today around 100 members, children, teenagers and adults.

The association defines itself as an Aïkido and Budo school, and proposes the practice of the following Japanese martial arts for all:

  • Aïkido

    The way of harmonizing the energies
    Courses for children (from 7 years old), teenagers and adults
  • Jodo

    The way of the stick
    (from 15 years old)
  • Iaïdo

    The way of harmonious life
    (from 17 years old)
  • Kenjutsu - aïkiken

    Techniques of the saber (bases and principles applicable to iaïdo and jodo)
    (from 15 years old)

13 courses in total are proposed to you each week, of which 11 for adults: courses planning. These courses are partly maintained during school holiday periods (including in the months of July-August) to allow you to practice all year long.

The Aïkikaï of Grenoble is affiliated to the FFAB (Aïkido and Budo French Federation) and is partner of the city of Grenoble.

You can attend one or two free trial classes before enrolling, regardless of the time of year you wish to start.

Simply arrive at the beginning of a class wearing appropriate clothing (kimono or sportswear).

The trial classes are covered by our insurance (a waiver form will need to be signed).

Register with the Aikikai of Grenoble

Registration is valid for the entire season (September to August) and provides access to all classes from Monday to Saturday, regardless of the discipline (aïkido, jodo, iaïdo and kenjutsu).
Registration is possible throughout the year (please contact us for late registrations).

To register, you need the following:

  • New registrants: Please create your member account if you don't already have one; this will allow you to complete your registration.
    • Children and teenagers: no longer need a medical certificate if the health questionnaire contains only negative answers.
    • Adults: a medical certificate, not older than 3 months, stating your aptitude to participate in the chosen activities: aïkido, jodo, iaïdo, kenjutsu (obligatory). This certificate will be valid for 3 years provided that the health questionnaire contains only negative answers at the time of your re-registration. Don't forget to have your federal passport stamped by the doctor.
  • Re-registration: You don't need to do anything except provide a new medical certificate if required by your health questionnaire (adults, children), and update your account with any recent changes: address, phone number, discount rate, etc.
